AxesSim’s electromagnetic simulation solutions help enginneers to design and optimise innovative products and systems. The new 20-01 release of AxesSim’s solutions (AXS-AP, AXS-E3 and AXS-HD) delivers to our customers’ a set of new capabilities to face actual engineering challenges like 5G connectivity and electrification efficiency.

New features include

General

AxesSim On-premise Cloud platform CuToo has been improved with the following features in order to increase its adaptability on information systems architectures and optimise its performances:

  • Add some statistics on simulation like duration of the simulation launch, number of success simulations, …

  • Introduce administration roles, administrative tasks can be delegated to different users;

  • The management of data simulation is improved: Optimization of the move of big data between the servers involved in the simulation process

  • LDAP management is improved

  • Add an homogenous and contextual help and documentation in all simulation tools;

3D time domain Simulation

The rapid emergence of 5G in our daily lives as a means of connecting an increasing number of objects to each other, makes it crucial to control their radiation both to ensure quality of service and to minimize the level of electromagnetic field generated. The 3D electromagnetic simulation of the interaction of these radiations sources with their close environment becomes a major issue.

3D FDTD simulation capabilities are available in AXS-AP and AXS-E3 solutions.

The new features and improvements brought by 20-01 release are the following:

  • Unstructured mesh:

    • Unstructured nodes and wires can be created

    • Node/edge selection fully available;

    • 3D preview in advanced unstructured mesh node edition

    • CSV files can be imported as 0D meshes;

  • Structured mesh:

    • New tool: “Connected nodes”;

    • UI adjustments in structured meshing;

    • Tool box UI adjustments.

  • FDTD simulation:

    • TEMSI-FD interactive validator is now available in MaxSim

    • Clearer implementation error messages

    • Semi-infinite wire simulation is now possible

Cable Simulation

In today’s world of high-performance electronics and the increasingly important electrification of the propulsion of transport systems, the modelling of cable harnesses and the electromagnetic fields they generate are becoming very important.

Cable harness simulation capabilities are part of AXS-HD and AXS-E3 solutions. The new features and improvements brought by 20-01 release for cable harness electromagnetic simulation are:

General features

  • A new predefined harness configuration template mechanism

  • A new electromagnetic environment (EM) category (plane waves, distributed sources, …)

  • A new analysis tool bar for automatically chaining computation steps

  • A spreadsheet view for materials

  • A spreadsheet view for cable technology

  • A new Time domain cable harness solver MILO, for wide band and non-linear problems including the following features:

MTLN Model

  • Agnostic data model for describing network topologies, tubes and junctions between them;

  • Network geometry description from several kind (tube length, 3D geometry or mesh);

  • Simple load models (Short-cut, Open-circuit, matched and simple Thevenin models);

  • Complex load model with linear electrical circuit (R, L, C, V, I, …) and complex wave form;

  • Probe object to define observable on the tube;

  • Convenient output request (current, voltage, charge, power, commune mode current and tension, …) in frequency and time domain;

  • Distributed source based in Agrawal formulation;

  • Scriptable model into Python language;

  • Static common mode impedance for modelling ground;

Solvers
